What do you think of when you see the word "maven"? What kind of image does it conjure up in your head? What does a typical "maven" look like?
L.M. Squires, at Polyglot Conspiracy, points out a tendency of which I was previously unaware.

Perhaps a celtic resonance burbling in the subconscious?
Maeve + Raven =
Maven
Both feminine proper names in addition to their various European mythical positionings
Hey, good one, I hadn't thought about "Maeve".
I thought briefly about "raven", but was just thinking of the bird and not remembering it can also be a proper name.
Incidentally, the word "craven" has feminine connotations to me, but that's only because my grandmother used to smoke Craven A's.
Which reminds me, what does the "A" stand for in Craven A's?
Were there Craven B's?
